The Plough and Harrow

A pub with Sky TV in Wigan.

A big hello from everyone here at the Plough & Harrow in the village of Shevington, just outside of Wigan and not far from Junction 27 off the M6. We provide our customers with a number of quality cask beers and lagers. We have a separate games room for pool, darts and dominoes and we also have a first floor function room available for private functions and events. We’re heavily involved in the local community and we’re very proud that we’ve helped raise over £60,000 for local charities. Why not come down and pay us a visit!

Hobgoblin Gold 4.2 Wychwood Brewery

Hobgoblin Gold is the latest beer carrying the little fella’s moniker, and while Gold might be lighter in colour, it’s definitely no lightweight

Tasting Notes: A combination of six hop varieties (yes six!) & an infusion of wheat and malted barley has resulted in the perfect golden beer – with a huge hop punch.

IPA 4.0 Daniel Thwaites

An English Indian Pale Ale brewed using Citra hops for a full-on powerful citrus experience

Tasting Notes: Light amber in colour with a zesty and citrus aroma

Wainwright 4.1 Wainwright

An exquisitely, golden ale, named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.

Yorkshire Blonde 3.9 Ossett Brewery

Fruity Pale Ale

Tasting Notes: This beer pays homage to our stunning Yorkshire heartland, the inspiration behind everything we brew. This pale ale is full-bodied, well-rounded and slightly sweet on the palate. A generous addition of Mount Hood hops late in the boil result in a delicate fruity aroma.
