The Prince of Wales

A child friendly pub serving food with WiFi in Cardiff.

J D Wetherspoon is renowned for getting some great locations, and the Prince of Wales falls nothing short of that! Opened in July 1999, the Prince retains its realistic and traditional decor that would have been when it was originally the New Theatre Royal, also known as the Playhouse Cardiff as well.

The huge interior is always buzzing on the matchdays, and is filled with the sounds of the Welsh rugby fans chanting their team on. When it's a little quieter, the extensive seating area is great for large parties who might want to have some food together, or get a party started on a Saturday night.

Come and find us in Cardiff city centre, and enjoy some great food and drink with us today!

Rhymney Export 5.0 Rhymney Brewery

A heady flavour from a combination of mixed malts, carefully and skillfully mixed by hand, which we believe provides an ale of exceptional character. Full bodied yet rounded, series but eminently quaffable.

Tasting Notes:

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.

This drinkable pale ale embodies all that’s best about Wales: it’s easy going, approachable and will keep you coming back.

Tasting Notes: A well-rounded pale ale with intense citrus, tropical and lime flavours. Hints of pine all finished with a clean, hoppy bitterness.
