You will find The Ship in Talbot Court London within a short stroll of Monument Tube, Gracechurch Street and Eastcheap - however you won't find another like it.
Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.
The Ship has a long history, standing on the site of a former coaching inn known as The Talbot, which took its name from a type of hunting dog. Razed by the Great Fire of London in 1666 our pub was rebuilt and renamed 'The Ship' because of the dock workers and deckhands that then drank here. We are near The Monument to the Great Fire that helped give rise to our 'new' name.
The Ship is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
