The holders begin their latest Nations League campaign against Wales, with Portugal looking to make a winning start as they defend the trophy they lifted in 2025. These nations have met several times in recent years, most memorably in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 when Portugal won 2-0 in Lyon, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani finding the net. Wales will be hoping for a different outcome as they face the reigning Nations League champions on the opening night.

Formula One heads to the streets of Baku for the 17th round of the season, with the 6.003km circuit combining long, high-speed straights with the tight and twisty sections around the old city. Charles Leclerc has dominated qualifying in Baku in recent years, taking four consecutive pole positions between 2021 and 2024. With the Azerbaijan Grand Prix taking place on Saturday this year, qualifying also moves forward to Friday as the drivers battle for the best possible starting position.

A 76th-minute try from Tom Litchfield had looked like it would give the Saints the win but a Tom Christie try three minutes later made the last couple of minutes a nervy end for Northampton, but they managed to hold on for the victory.
