The Taproom

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Batley.

Batley’s finest real ale pub, rising from the ashes of the 200 year old Wilton Arms, and refurbished to return it to its former glory.

Opening hours are 4 pm ‘til 11 Monday to Thursday, 2 pm ‘til late on Friday, and midday to midnight Saturday and Sunday. We’re home to the very best real ales, featuring permanently Ossett Yorkshire Blonde, Theakston’s Old Peculier and four guest ales from the County.

We’re very proud to announce that we are in the CAMRA Best Beer Guide 2015 – the nation’s biggest pub guide, and we also have a very decent selection of lagers (including Birra Moretti, Staropramen, Heineken and Hoegaarden on draught) and ciders (Symonds Reserve on draught). We have the best special craft beers and wines list for miles, and there is always top quality live music on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons.

To complete the picture, we feature ‘Latino Tapas at the Taps’ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings – a wonderful selection of Latin American small dishes from our Colombian chef Juan Carlos Mendoza. Try them as a snack, or assemble a whole meal with friends and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!

We’re aiming to be the biggest little venue in Yorkshire, and part of our lounge bar is ‘Barstows’; a homage to all that is great about Batley, and perfect for business meetings, family functions or a small party.

You can’t fail with The Taproom – it’s got the lot!

We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Yorkshire Blonde 3.9 Ossett Brewery

Fruity Pale Ale

Tasting Notes: This beer pays homage to our stunning Yorkshire heartland, the inspiration behind everything we brew. This pale ale is full-bodied, well-rounded and slightly sweet on the palate. A generous addition of Mount Hood hops late in the boil result in a delicate fruity aroma.
