The Thimble Inn

A pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Dorchester.

The Thimble Inn offers everything you'd hope for from a classic Dorset country pub; low ceiling, original features, crackling fires and plenty of cosy corners and windows to settle into.

Set in the heart of the Piddle Valley, besides the gentle flowing River Piddle and surrounded by rolling countryside, The Thimble is perfectly placed for a relaxed rural escape - whether that's a quiet pint in the bar, a leisurely lunch, or a long, unhurried evening with friends and family.

At the beginning of an exciting new chapter, the Thimble offers pure, genuinely warm hospitality, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere for all.

We are proud to be a dog friendly pub, with four legged friends welcome in the bar and gardens - the perfect stop after a country walk  Our menu celebrates the seasons and the best of local Dorset produce, with thoughtfully crafted dishes that balance comforting pub favourites with more creative, contemporary plates.  Expect well kept cask ales, a carefully chosen wine list and food made with care, flavour and provenance at its heart.
