Brynmawr, sometimes cited as the highest town in Wales, is situated at 1,250 to 1,500 feet above sea level and nestles at the head of the South Wales Valleys, just a short distance from the ever popular Brecon Beacons.
The Clarence a traditional stone building and offers warm and welcoming atmosphere. The pub has a range of Welsh cask ales and a menu to suit all appetites. The bar, lounge and restaurant offer casual to more formal dining.
Andrew, the licensee, trained as a chef at the forte hotel chain. He travelled the country with the hotel group working his way to Head Chef before setting up his own catering ventures. He has now returned to South Wales looking forward to a fresh challenge closer to home.
