Hit or Miss

A dog friendly pub serving food in Amersham.

The pub is a charming old building smothered with wisteria and hanging baskets of flowers. The earliest deeds date back to 1730 and it is known that it opened as a pub on 1st June 1798. The unusual name is a cricketing term, inspired by the pub’s own cricketing team who play just opposite on Sunday afternoons.

With it's old parquet flooring, large inglenook open fireplaces, leather sofas and original low ceiling beams, as well as the garden overlooking the cricket pitch, it really does match everyone's image of the quintessential olde English country pub.

Except of course for its excellent reputation for high quality food served in very relaxed surroundings - not at all what you associate with traditional 'pub food'.

You can be assured of a very warm personal service as well as a very high quality of food.
