Prince Of Wales

A pub with Sky TV in Herne Bay.

The Prince of Wales is a Victorian jewel of a pub in central Herne Bay, reflecting the Victorian heyday of this small seaside town. The current licensee has lovingly restored the pub to its original glory winning an English heritage/CAMRA design award.

Original features have been retained where possible, such as the tiled Victorian fireplaces with marble mantelpieces and etched glass. The look is complete down to aspidistras on jardinières and a collection of antique water jugs.

But it is not all vintage – sports and games are very popular with no less than six large HD screens, offering a selection of Sky Sports channels. In addition, traditional pub games are offered, not only darts and pool but the more unusual board games of Shove Ha’penny and Shut the Box.

The Prince of Wales is a great venue for hosting parties and meetings with two function rooms – a small bar area suitable for 12 people and a large function room for up to 70. The pub also has free WiFi.
