Grampound is a village of great antiquity, originally known as Grand Point, where tanning was the dominant employer until recent times. The Dolphin is in the middle of the village, and has a split-level single room with the bar at the upper end. The pool table has its own side room, and there is a large beer garden and car park to the rear of the pub. Food is available all day 1200-2100. Buses run to Truro and St. Austell until late evening on weekdays
