Exile Apollo 4.2

Tasting Notes: Our version of an American Pale Ale, presents as an Orange-gold colour, with an off-white creamy head. The liberal use of Cascade and Willamette hops give the beer a wonderfully crisp bouquet of grapefruit, honey and pine. The citrus notes on the nose, are accentuated by the big hoppy bitterness, which decreases as a slight malty sweetness comes to the fore. Finishing quite dry.

Exile Barista 4.2

Tasting Notes: Pouring black in colour. Tan-coloured head. Aroma of Dark chocolate and coffee, with slight sweetness and roasted barley character. Silky mouthfeel with a crisp finish.

Exmoor Exmas 5.0

This strong, ruby-coloured ale has a smooth, moreish flavour, its flowery and citrus hop aroma being balanced by the richness of the malt flavour which develops into a finish of spicy and fruity hop notes.

Tasting Notes: Ruby coloured full bodied and rich tasting. The nose has flowery and citrus hop notes. The palate is smooth with hints of biscuity malt and milk chocolate, before citrus fruit makes an appearance. The finish is equally smooth with spicy and fruit hop notes lingering.

Exmoor Fox 4.2

As subtle as the creature after which it is named, this is one of Exmoor Brewery’s most popular ales.

Tasting Notes: Four malts are mixed in the mash tun and deliver a graceful and sleek malty mouthfeel. Hops are Goldings, producing a burst of delicate citrus and slight spice on the mid-palate, and Progress, which soothes the finish with a soft bitterness, while more malt comes forth to produce a delicious and lingering bittersweet character.

Exmoor Gold 4.5

In the world of beer the eyes have it when it comes to ordering ale, something that Exmoor completely understand back in 1986 when they produced the first modern Golden Ale, Exmoor Gold.

Tasting Notes: In the glass, Exmoor Gold is an appetising and enticing gold in colour. The nose is an interplay between a fresh bouquet of grassy and floral hop and a subtly soft, fluffy caramel-tinged maltiness. The palate sees more balance between gentle grainy maltiness and sprightly floral, citrusy fresh hop fruitiness

Exmoor Gold 5.0

In the world of beer the eyes have it when it comes to ordering ale, something that Exmoor completely understand back in 1986 when they produced the first modern Golden Ale, Exmoor Gold. The bottled version, though slightly stronger at 5% still encompasses all the qualities that this beer is known and loved for.

Exmoor Mild 3.5

An English Mild Ale with a dark brown colour and a clean finish.

Tasting Notes: Dark brown coloured, aromas of chocolate and toffee, toffee and a good bittersweet balance, and a clean finish. Made with Bramling Cross, Goldings and Northdown hops.

Exmoor Stag 4.8

This is a big hitter of a beer, an Ian Botham standing defiantly at the crease.

Tasting Notes: The nose is rich with resiny hop aromas to the fore followed by a biscuity maltiness in the background. On the palate a voluminous malty character with hints of chocolate and toffee is matched note for note with a well defined and warming fruitiness, before a giddy descent where a long dry finish where a hint of sweetness keeps matters well mannered.

Hound Dog 4.0

The hops are English Goldings and Slovenian Styrian Goldings, both of which offer distinctive citrus fruit notes.

Tasting Notes: The nose pulsates with a surge of lemon and lime, while there is a light touch of toffee and vanilla on the palate followed by an exquisite balance of fruity hoppiness and malt on the long bittersweet finish.

Ram 3.5

A modern twist on a traditional style of beer which is refreshing with a depth of flavour confounding its low 3.5% alcohol….just right for several pints.

Tasting Notes: Delicate citrus hop aroma; Hints of honey and biscuit sweetness, subside slowly replaced by a crisp refreshing dry finish.

Silver Stallion 4.3

Exmoor’s 25th anniversary in 2005 was celebrated in style with this chestnut-coloured bitter.

Tasting Notes: A complex mix of four hops - Goldings, Bramling Cross, Northdown and WGV - plus a pinch of chocolate malt joining pale malt in the mash, produced a robustly flavoured beer with a fresh and fruity nose (hints of blackcurrant), plus biscuity maltiness in the background. In the mouth it’s full-bodied and malty at the starting post with a hint of blackcurrant, while citrus and spice overtones join in the race; the initial grainy malty finish is followed by a growing and lingering bitterness.

Wild Cat 4.2

This is a single-hopped ale, with Fuggles providing deep booming earthy hop notes on the nose.

Tasting Notes: Malt is the king on the palate with hints of autumn berries, chocolate, toffee and caramel ruling the roost, until the long dry finish, which also has a subtle restrained fruitiness.

XPA 4.8

XPA is a slightly more modern IPA style incorporating some American hops for bitterness, but tempered with a sweetness in the mash to produce another classic, easily drinkable Exmoor beer.

Tasting Notes: Golden, hoppy beer, refreshing citrus and orange jelly notes on the nose, while the palate is a bittersweet with juicy citrus and hints of berry before a dry, grain bitter finish. Made using American Willamette and Cascade hops alongside English Fuggles and Goldings hops.
