A brewery in Salisbury.

Established in 1987 by John Gilbert, our Chairman at the Wyndham Arms in Salisbury. Hop Back was one of the original golden ale brewers and is probably bets known for Summer Lightning amongst it's amazing array of award winning beers. Possibly the most awarded cask ale brewer in the UK we retain a quality first approach to our beers.

Brewed with American Citra hops, this golden thirst-quenching ale has a lemony, grape-fruity aftertaste with a crisp dry bitterness, making your taste buds yearn for more.

Tasting Notes: 

Crop Circle 4.2

A very clean, flaxen-coloured beer with wonderful thirst-quenching properties.

Tasting Notes: The subtle blend of aroma and bittering hops give a crispness on the tongue which is delicately fruity, giving way to some dryness. The inclusion of flaked maize in the grist subtly hints at crisp corn flavours.

Entire Stout 4.5

A rich dark stout with a strong roasted malt flavour and a long, smooth aftertaste.

A darker copper brew made with the finest English hops, Fugglestone has s full, slightly sweet, malty palate underpinned by a fresh spicy citrus hop

GFB our Golden, with the sort of light clean tasty quality which makes an ideal session ale.

Brewed with the best pale malt and a splash of rye, this golden ale is flavoured with American Nugget hops which promise a spicy frutiness, with hints of peaches and pear.

Hop fest 4.5

A combination of East Kent Goldings, Citra, Styrian and Pinoneer hops give this feisty blonde ale great lip-smacking flavour which has made the beer a perennial favourite

Tasting Notes: Full blown hoppiness on the nose with strong aromatics of citrus fruit. The palate has a rich rouund mouth feel with a zingy, hoppy finish.

May Fly 4.1

Made with the Belma hop from the USA. This has been added to the late copper in this amber golden ale. Belma imparts floral tropical fruit tones, with strawberry and pineapple resonances and a bittersweet finish.

Spring Zing 4.2

A real hop-feast of a beer! Two English and two Continental hops give a very satisfying bitter yet flowery palate. Maize, wheat and barley malts combine with the hops to yield a very soft flavoursome pale thirst quenching ale.

Summer Lightning 5.0

A trendsetter in the brewing industry; the original Summer ale brewed all year round. Probably the beer to receive the most awards in Britain!

Tasting Notes: An extremely pleasant bitter, straw coloured beer with a terrific fresh, hoppy aroma. This, coupled with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent long, dry finish.
