Welcome to The Boat House at Barrow, set on the banks of the River Soar Navigation a recognised Leicestershire Beauty Spot.

Our Pub and Restaurant offers an extensive choice when it comes to food, ranging from freshly made baps, hot Bar Snacks and Bar Meals all day, to a Traditional Sunday Roast. From restaurant service in the evenings, both English and Chinese to Bar B Q’s at the weekends.

All our food offerings can be enjoyed in our restaurant, our bar, our veranda or our Riverside Garden

With an ever rotating range of Real Ales (5), Lagers, ciders (always over 30) and vodkas (over 40), inviting large riverside garden with children’s play areas, live music events, many in the garden, real ale and cider festivals, hosting seasonal events such as Guy Fawkes night, Halloween, Chinese New Year, and local charity functions, and offering canoe, kayak and punt hire

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. Gold Star Pale Ale 4.2 Shipstones Brewery

A smooth easy drinking blonde pale ale, brewed in keeping with a Shipstone’s beer. Using quality pale malt and is double hopped with Fuggle’s and dry hopped with Cascade.

Tasting Notes: This pale ale is a beer for all palates and offers a light, smooth and refreshing taste. The aroma is a blend of freshly picked hops with wonderful citrus notes. The flavour has a malty velvet feel that balances perfectly with a zest of citrus, providing a flowery subtle finish that clears and won’t linger.

A quirky character yes, from Cornish folklore, Betty Stogs was reputedly full-bodied, golden-hearted and just a little fruity. So, you can see why we chose to name our award-winning, smooth-drinking amber ale after her.

Tasting Notes: With whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops alongside malted barley and wheat, this is a Cornish twist on a classic smooth-drinking ale. The Rev. James beer is one steeped in history. Acquired after the purchase of Crown Buckley, Rev. James is brewed to an original recipe dating back to 1885. The beer is named after one of the original owners of Buckley Brewery, the Rev, James Buckley.

Tasting Notes: The Rev. James is brewed to a traditional recipe and has been described as having a flavour not commonly available these days. Full-bodied and warming, The Rev. James is rich in palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish.
