The New Flying Horse Inn

A pub serving food in Ashford.

Picturesque inside and out, the pub boasts nine charmingly renovated guest rooms and an enviable countryside location - the perfect base for a weekend in Kent. The pub in Wye is well located for exploring the cathedral city of Canterbury, walking on the Downs or enjoying a restful stopover to and from the continent. Wye was voted the third best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times, and is just one hour away from London by train.

The pub also boats a large garden including an authentic recreation of a Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner- Julian Dowle’s successful design A Soldier’s Dream of Blighty. The Chelsea Pensioners’ Garden was created for the 2005 Chelsea Flower Show, with input from the Chelsea Pensioners themselves, and includes a Dig for Victory vegetable garden, a pond, a field of poppies and a miniature traditional English pub. A visual treat, it is the best place in Wye to eat, drink and relax in the summer sun.

Dragonfire 4.5 Shepherd Neame

Brewed to commemorate St George's Day, Dragonfire is a celebration of the best that England has to offer.

Tasting Notes: The cream of the crop of malted barley, oats, rye and wheat with goldings hops adding a classic bitterness. Full bodied and rich with a mellow mahogany hue, it is the ideal to England's Patron Saint."

Master Brew 3.7 Shepherd Neame

Master Brew is brewed using only the finest Kentish barley and hops and is Shepherd Neame's flagship beer in the brewery's Kentish heartland.

Tasting Notes: Delicate and devilishly drinkable, this quintessentially Kentish ale lays the county''s hallowed, herbaceous hops on a firm, biscuity bed of pale and crystal malt. Endowed with an inviting auburn-amber hue and a tantalising toffee-ish aroma, it''s an enlivening English ale that, given its unassuming ABV, pleasures the palate with a remarkable fullness of flavour.

Oranjeboom 3.9 Shepherd Neame

A delicious, easy-drinking Dutch drop with a hay-like hue and a herbaceous, grassy and fruity fragrance. Citrus notes on the palate speak softly of orange, kiwi and lemongrass buttressed with a hint of caramel sweetness and a gentle, drifting finish.

Tasting Notes: Fruity, citrus, caramel

San Miguel 5.0 San Miguel Brewery Inc.

The unique recipe and San Miguel yeast come together to deliver a refreshing, full bodied beer with a great taste. San Miguel is a pilsner style lager, inspired by the Spanish way of life.

Tasting Notes: San Miguel has a hoppy, citrus, fresh bitter / citrus hoppy–sweet/fruity taste.

Spitfire Amber 4.2 Shepherd Neame

The beer is named after the legendary Spitfire aeroplane designed by RJ Mitchell. The versatility of the aircraft and the courage of its pilots were essential to victory and were a key symbol of the spirit of that time.

Tasting Notes: An infusion of three Kentish hops adorns this beautifully balanced, blood-orange tinted British bitter with an acutely aromatic allure. Hints of marmalade, red grapes and pepper are thrust from a springboard of warm, mellow malts. The floating fruity finish signs off with a smidgen of spice and raspberry.

Tasting Notes: A pale, refreshing lager with spicy overtones perfectly balanced by the scent of fresh flowers

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale 3.9 Shepherd Neame

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale is designed to suit all palates and offer a light, refreshing taste. The sweet maltiness balances perfectly with the fresh pine notes provided by the hops added late in the process, to offer a light-coloured, thirst-quenching ale.

Tasting Notes: Refreshing, pine, fresh

Strongbow 4.5 Heineken
